                                                        AfterCare Program

  This program provides services to adolescents after their discharge from community child placement agencies/foster care placements, including Beacon Center's residential treatment programs.  The AfterCare program offers assistance to families during a client's transition to a less restrictive living environment. Services may include:

  • Individual and Family Therapy

  • Monthly review staffings, progress reports and discharge summary

  • Administration of a Life Skills Assessment

  • Development and monitoring of an individualized treatment plan

  • Attendance at court hearings or foster care reviews, when requested

   Beacon Center provides mentoring services using the 40 Developmental Assets.  This is a strength based approach utilizing a curriculum of activities to help develop the clients current assets.  Adolescents are involved in both individual and group activities to promote positive change.  Services may include:

  • Asset building activities - Transportation

  • Individual, Group and/or Family Counseling

  • Life Skills Assessment and Training

  • Staffings, Progress Reports and Discharge Summary

                        Adolescent DUI Program for Underage Drinkers                     

  • Facilitated by a licensed, experienced team

  • Designed for under age drinkers

  • Assists clients in getting their license back

  • Offers weekend intensive classes to allow clients to complete required ours in a shorter time frame

Classes tailored specifically for the needs of adolescent under age drinkers; with no adults present except the counselor

Substance Abuse Outpatient        

   Our Motivational Enhancement Therapy/Stages of Change In-Home Outpatient Program is an ADAD licensed community based treatment program.  Services include:

  • ASAM PPC-2R screening

  • The Adolescent Self-Assessment Profile II

  • Socrates screening

  • UA's and Breathalyzers

                                                             Assessments

   Drug and alcohol assessments consist of ASAM, SOCRATES, ASAP and SUS.  We can go to placement, detention or homes.  Cost is $150.00

                                                          Nurturing New Life Classes                                              

   This curriculum of 14 classes is specifically designed for teenagers who are pregnant or who have a child.  The goal is to empower them to make responsible decisions regarding the safety and well being of their child and of themselves.  The classes will focus on:

  • Providing knowledge and information regarding the developmental stages and needs of children

  • Therapeutic approach to learning and practicing parenting skills

  • Encouraging self-reflection, evaluation and goal setting

  • Supporting appropriate changes in behaviors, including the misuse of substances

  • Understanding the long-term commitment required to safely and successfully raise a child
