Ruth and Bob Beriault hosted this year’s “Cherish the Children” Kick Off Party on February 28th, 2007. The party featured appetizers provided by Hyatt Regency Tech Center, wine provided by Jayme Nunn and Pietra Santa Winery and chocolates provided by Fifth Avenue Chocolatiers. The “Carnivale Rio” themed gala is May 5, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency DTC. The proceeds from table and ticket sales, live and silent auctions sales will benefit Beacon Center. Kick Off Co-Chairs Jamie Angelich and Karen Dolan welcomed and thanked the attendees and committees chairs for coming out during the storm, and introduced Edna Chang-Grant who is Co-Chairing the event with Lisa McCaffrey, who could not be in attendance. Edna described the upcoming event which will include members of the Denver Bronco family including Honorary Chairs Pat and Annabel Bowlen, music by Jakarta, a Fashion Show, Silent Auction, Live Auction by Denver's own Gary Corbett and a live performance by acclaimed artist Malcolm Farley. Peggy and Mike Shanahan will be presented with the "Golden Cherub" Award for their outstanding dedication to Beacon Center at this year's Gala. Corporate Chairs Carylyn Bell and Debra McKenney were available to answer questions and encourage attendees to support Beacon Center, as were Fashion Chair Lauren Brownstein, Silent Auction Chairs Dayla Newberry and Kay Burke and Live Auction Chair Nancy Sevo. Guild President Pamela O’Neal and Board Member Deborah Gallery were also in attendance. All guests left with a leather wrapped beaded necklace from Bali selected specifically for this event by March Roth and James Pfister, Gala Designers and Boco Loca Brazilian rum.
